Social isolation is a considerable problem. An Australian Bureau of Statistics report shows that people over the age of 65 years with moderate and severe disabilities spend 85% of their waking time alone (Ref: Brotherhood 2007). Socially isolated people experience a 26% increase in mortality compared to those who had meaningful social engagement (Ref: UK 2013). Lumin oﬀers seniors and disabled people a brighter, safer and more connected future and improves the quality of life in their home.
With the move of the aged and disability markets to Consumer-Directed Care (CDC), consumer in these markets are empowered to make choices that will deliver improved access to services and more efficient delivery of services for the service provider.
