How do I remove myself as a Supporter?
Last updated 28 July 2026
If you'd like to step back from being a Supporter — because your role has changed, your circumstances have changed, or you'd simply rather not be on the platform — you can. Removal goes through Lumin Support; there's no self-service option in the Supporters App.
How to remove yourself
- Contact Lumin Support — phone or email.
- We verify your identity briefly.
- We remove you from the relevant CareHub. Your access ends as soon as the removal is processed. You'll no longer receive alerts, notifications, or messages from the CareHub. The CareHub's Phone tile updates to remove your icon.
What happens to your data
When you stop being a Supporter:
- The CareHub user no longer sees your icon or your messages going forward.
- Photos and messages you previously sent to the CareHub remain on the CareHub user's device — they belong to them now, not to you.
- Your own Lumin Supporters App account (if you support no other people) becomes inactive but isn't deleted immediately. The 30-day data retention window applies — see the privacy article for more.
- If you'd like your account fully deleted, contact Lumin Support.
If you're the only Supporter
If you're the only Supporter linked to a CareHub, removing yourself leaves the CareHub without any Supporter coverage. Before doing this:
- The CareHub user may want to invite another Supporter first.
- If they're on the Ease of Mind plan, they should know that without a Supporter, emergency alerts have no recipient. This may be a moment to talk through whether Rest Assured (with its 24/7 monitoring centre) might suit better.
- Lumin Support is happy to help the household think through the options.
Re-joining later
If you change your mind, you can be re-added as a Supporter at any time by:
- The CareHub user inviting you again
- Another Supporter inviting you
- Lumin Support adding you on the household's request Your previous role doesn't carry forward — you start fresh.
