What plans are available for villages?
Last updated 28 July 2026
Village plans for Lumin are different from Individual plans — they're structured around what a village needs as an operator, not around what an individual resident gets. This article gives the shape of the village plan model. Specific pricing is commercially confidential and is provided as part of the village's quote. Note for village staff: if you're trying to understand pricing for residents or families, the Individual plans article is the right place. This article is about how the village itself is licensed.
The village plan structure
Lumin offers three village plan tiers, plus optional modules that can be added to any tier:
- Basic — entry-level village setup. Core community features (Community Messages, calendar, photos, basic resident directory).
- Standard — adds more advanced community features (broadcasts, events and bookings, maintenance requests via native Lumin, more granular grouping).
- Enterprise — the full platform. Adds integration with the village's existing systems via Lumin Connect, advanced reporting, SSO for staff, dedicated account management. Each tier includes a per-village licence plus per-resident or per-dwelling fees, depending on the village's deployment model.
Optional modules
Beyond the tier, several modules can be added:
- Lumin Connect — integration with the village's existing care management, maintenance, booking, or HR software
- Lumin Cloud — advanced data services, including the village's data warehouse and reporting
- Clinical care extension — for villages also operating residential aged care
- Custom branding — village's own logo, colours, look on residents' devices and the Portal
- Dedicated broadcast channel — for villages with significant live event activity
- Advanced reporting — operational reporting on platform usage, communication effectiveness, resident engagement Modules are priced per-village rather than per-resident.
How villages typically choose
- Smaller villages (50–200 residents): often start with Basic or Standard and add modules over time
- Larger villages (200+ residents): typically Standard or Enterprise from the start, with Lumin Connect and Lumin Cloud often included
- Multi-site operators: typically Enterprise, with consolidated reporting across sites
What's included regardless of tier
Every village plan includes:
- Lumin platform access (Community Management Portal)
- CareHub provisioning for residents (devices are licensed separately per the per-resident model)
- Lumin Support for staff and residents
- Software updates and platform improvements over the air
- 24/7 platform monitoring by Lumin
- Aged care–specific compliance (Australian Privacy Principles, data residency, etc.)
What's not included
A few things to be clear about:
- CareHub hardware costs — devices are purchased or leased per resident, separate from the village licence
- Internet connectivity — the village provides Wi-Fi and any wired connections
- Resident-side support — covered by Lumin's standard support, but staff time for resident handholding is the village's responsibility
- Custom development — bespoke features outside the standard platform are scoped as separate projects
