What warranty does the CareHub come with?
Last updated 29 July 2026
Every Lumin CareHub comes with a one-year standard warranty covering manufacturing defects and hardware failure.
Extended warranty
Longer cover is available as three-year and five-year back-to-base warranties, across both Australia and New Zealand. "Back-to-base" means a faulty device is returned to Lumin and replaced or repaired, rather than someone attending your home. Extended warranty is usually arranged when the CareHub is first ordered, though it can be discussed later. Talk to Lumin Support about options and pricing.
What the warranty covers
- Manufacturing defects
- Hardware that fails in normal use — screen, speakers, microphone, internal components
- Battery degradation — if the battery no longer holds a reasonable charge, that's covered. See the separate battery article.
- Peripherals supplied by Lumin, such as a pendant
What it doesn't cover
- Accidental damage — drops, knocks, liquid spills. This is where home contents insurance usually applies; see the separate article on insurance.
- Loss or theft — also an insurance matter, not a warranty one.
- Deliberate damage or misuse.
- Damage from unauthorised repair — please don't open the device or have a third party work on it.
How a warranty claim works
- Contact Lumin Support. Describe what's happening.
- We diagnose remotely first. Lumin monitors every device, so we can often see the fault ourselves. A good number of reported faults turn out to be fixable without returning anything.
- If it is a hardware fault, we arrange a replacement. Spare parts and replacement devices are held locally in Australia and New Zealand, so turnaround doesn't depend on an overseas shipment.
- Your data isn't affected. Contacts, photos, reminders and settings live on the Lumin platform, not on the device, so they carry across to a replacement CareHub.
Nothing to register
There's no warranty card to return and no registration step. The warranty is attached to the device and your account from the day it's delivered.
