What is the Lumin Community Management Portal?

    Last updated 28 July 2026

The Lumin Community Management Portal is the web-based tool that village staff and care professionals use to communicate with residents (or participants) and manage the service that connects them. It's the operator-side counterpart to the resident's CareHub or Lumin App. The Portal is accessed through a web browser — there's nothing to install — at community.mylumin.net.

    Village context

Inside a retirement village or aged care community, the Portal is the day-to-day tool for staff. It's how village managers, care coordinators, and activity staff stay in contact with the people living there. Through the Portal, village staff can:

    • Send Community Messages to all residents or to specific groups (a single building, a particular interest group, individuals)
    • Broadcast live video for village announcements, events, or chapel services
    • Manage residents — see who lives where, who's a Supporter for whom, who's been added recently
    • Run the village's resident directory, calendar, events, and bookings (where the village has those modules enabled)
    • Handle maintenance requests submitted by residents from their CareHubs (where the village uses the native Lumin module rather than an integrated system) The Portal sits on the same platform as the CareHub and the Lumin App, so anything sent through the Portal lands cleanly on the right resident's device.

    Care professional context

For care providers — particularly home care providers working under Support at Home — the Portal works as a participant communication hub. The use pattern is different from a village's community-building focus: it's about coordinating with participants in their own homes, not running a shared community. Through the Portal, care professionals can:

    • Send messages to participants on their CareHub or Lumin App
    • Coordinate around appointments and check-ins
    • See connection and activity status of participants' devices
    • Integrate with existing care management software (AlayaCare, AutumnCare, and others) through Lumin Connect, so updates can flow without double-handling The Portal isn't a replacement for the provider's existing care management system. It works alongside one.

    What the Portal isn't

    • It's not a customer database. Resident profiles and contact details live there for the purpose of communication, not as a full CRM.
    • It's not a clinical record. Care plans, medical history, and clinical assessments belong in the operator's clinical system.
    • It's not for ad-hoc external integrations. Lumin Connect handles that side properly.

    Getting access

Access to the Portal is provisioned by Lumin during deployment. Village or care provider staff are added with the appropriate role and login credentials. If you need access and don't have it, see your village or care provider's Lumin point of contact, or contact Lumin Support. There's a separate article on logging in to the Portal.
