How do I download the Lumin App?

    Last updated 28 July 2026

The Lumin App is free, on iPhone (iOS) and Android. Here's how to download it.

    From the invitation

When your village, care provider, or Lumin sets you up, you'll usually receive an SMS or email with a link to download the Lumin App and log in. Tapping the link takes you straight to the right page in your phone's app store.

    • Tap the link.
    • Choose App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android).
    • Tap Get (iPhone) or Install (Android).
    • Once downloaded, tap Open.

    Searching the store directly

If you didn't receive an invitation link, or you're installing on a new phone:

    • iPhone: open the App Store, search for Lumin App, tap Get.
    • Android: open the Google Play Store, search for Lumin App, tap Install. After installing, you can log in using the mobile number Lumin has on file for you. See the separate article on logging in.

If you can't log in after installing

You'll only be able to log in if you've been added to a Lumin platform — through a village, a care provider, or as an individual customer. If you've installed the app but can't get past the login screen:

    • Check whether you've been invited. The mobile number you're trying to log in with needs to match the number Lumin has on file.
    • Contact your village or care provider — they can confirm your account is set up.
    • Or contact Lumin Support, and we'll check.

    Requirements

Lumin supports the two most recent major versions of iOS and Android. If your phone is on a current or recent OS, you'll be fine. If your phone is on a significantly older OS, the app store may flag the Lumin App as unavailable for your device — in which case it's worth updating your phone's OS or, if that's not possible, talking to Lumin Support about alternatives. Most phones from the last several years run a supported OS without anything needing to change.

Lumin App vs Lumin Supporters App

Be careful to download the right app for your role:

    • Lumin App — for residents, individuals, or participants (the person Lumin is built around)
    • Lumin Supporters App — for family and friends checking in on someone They look similar in the store. The icons differ. Most people only need one or the other, not both.
