Who is Lumin, and is Lumin a care provider?

Lumin is an Australian technology company building tools that help older people stay well, connected and supported in the home they've chosen, for as long as possible. The company was founded out of first-hand experience of caring for a chronically ill parent — the fragmentation, the invisibility, and the gap between what technology promised and what it actually delivered. That's the problem Lumin was built to address.
Where Lumin operates

Is Lumin a care provider?
No. This distinction matters, so it's worth being precise about it. Lumin is a technology platform. It supports the people and organisations who provide care by giving them better tools to coordinate, communicate and respond. Lumin works alongside care teams, not instead of them. In practice that means:
- Lumin doesn't deliver care. No clinical services, no personal care, no nursing.
- Lumin doesn't make clinical decisions or give clinical advice. Clinical records live in your provider's care management software, not in Lumin.
- Lumin isn't an emergency service. Emergency alerts route to family Supporters, or to a monitoring team where an emergency monitoring subscription is in place. In a genuine emergency, call emergency services.
- Lumin does monitor the platform, continuously — device health, connectivity, service availability. That's technology monitoring, not monitoring a person's health. If you have a question about someone's care, their care provider, village, or GP is the right place to take it. If you have a question about the technology, that's us.
