How many Supporters can be linked to one CareHub?
Last updated 28 July 2026
There's no hard limit on the number of Supporters you can add to a CareHub. Whether it's two, six, or fifteen, the system will accept them all. That said, it's worth being thoughtful about the number.
Why fewer Supporters often works better
In the past, Lumin limited each CareHub to two Supporters. That cap has been removed, but the thinking behind it still applies in spirit:
- Alerts go to every Supporter at once. On the Ease of Mind plan, every Supporter receives every alert. Too many Supporters can mean nobody actually responds, because each assumes someone else will.
- The CareHub user sees Supporter icons on their phone tile. A long list of names and faces can be more overwhelming than helpful, especially for someone who might be living with cognitive change.
- Coordination gets harder. Sharing reminders, planning visits, and keeping calendars aligned is easier with a small, close circle. Most households end up with somewhere between two and five Supporters. That's enough that one is usually reachable when needed, without diluting individual responsibility.
Lumin OneTouch — a visual limit
If the CareHub is running the simplified Lumin OneTouch interface (used for people living with dementia or significant cognitive change), the phone tile is designed to show only the most important Supporters as large, easy-to-tap icons. The visual layout fits six Supporters at most. You can still technically add more in the Supporters App, but the CareHub will only display the first six on the OneTouch interface. The others will still receive alerts and messages, they just won't appear as a tile on the device itself.
Adding and removing as the circle changes
Adding or removing Supporters is straightforward at any point — see the separate article on adding and removing Supporters. The circle doesn't need to be locked in at setup; it can be adjusted as life changes.
