How do I adjust the volume on the CareHub?

If the CareHub is too quiet, too loud, or you just want to adjust it for the time of day, there are two easy ways to do it.
Using the volume buttons
The CareHub has physical volume buttons on the device itself.
- V2 hardware (black models): the volume buttons are on the lower-left corner of the front of the device.
- E3 hardware (white models): the volume buttons are on the lower-right corner of the front.
- Older models: the buttons may be on the back of the device, near the power button. Press the Up button to make it louder, or the Down button to make it quieter. Each press changes the volume by one step — hold the button down to change more quickly.
Using the on-screen audio controller
You can also adjust volume from the screen:
- Press either volume button briefly to bring up the audio controller on screen.
- Drag the volume slider up or down with your finger.
- Tap anywhere outside the slider when you're done. The on-screen controller is sometimes easier for people with reduced dexterity, because the slider is large.
Different volumes for different things
The volume buttons adjust the master volume — that's calls, message notifications, alerts, and entertainment together. The CareHub doesn't separate ringtone volume from media volume the way a phone does — by design, to keep things simple. If there's no sound at all
If the CareHub is on but you're not getting any sound:
- Check the volume isn't all the way down (the audio controller will show a flat slider).
- Check whether a Bluetooth speaker or headphones are paired and turned on — sound may be routing to those rather than the CareHub speakers. The separate article on Bluetooth covers how to disconnect a paired device.
- Reboot the CareHub (press and hold the power button at the back, choose Reboot). If sound still isn't working after that, contact Lumin Support.
