How do I add a contact directly on the CareHub?

    Last updated 28 July 2026

If you'd like to add a phone contact directly on the CareHub itself — for someone like a doctor, a chemist, or a friend who isn't a Supporter — you can do that from the Phone tile. This is different from adding a Supporter, who's part of your Lumin circle (see the separate article on adding Supporters). A regular contact is just a name and a phone number, for audio calling.

    Adding a contact

    1. On the CareHub home screen, tap the Phone tile.
    2. Tap + Edit Contacts.
    3. Tap Add +.
    4. Enter the contact's name.
    5. Enter the phone number. If it's a landline, remember to include the area code (for example, in Australia the area code for Victoria is 03, so a Melbourne number might be 03 5550 1234). For mobiles, start with 04.
    6. For overseas numbers, start with the country code (like +1 for the US, +44 for the UK).
    7. Tap Add. The contact appears in the contacts list and is ready to call. You can call them by tapping their name from the Phone tile, then tapping the black audio call icon.

    Editing a contact

If you've made a typo or someone's number changes:

    1. Tap the Phone tile.
    2. Tap + Edit Contacts.
    3. Tap the pencil icon next to the contact you want to edit.
    4. Update the name or phone number.
    5. Tap Save. The changes apply immediately.

    Removing a contact

In the same Edit Contacts area, tap the grey X next to a contact's name to remove them.

    Why contacts here vs Supporters

The CareHub treats Supporters and ordinary contacts differently:

    • Supporters can send you messages and photos, video-call you, and be alerted in an emergency (depending on plan). They use the Lumin Supporters App on their phone.
    • Ordinary contacts are just phone numbers. You can call them — audio only — but they can't message you through Lumin and won't get any alerts about you. They don't need the Lumin Supporters App. Both kinds of contact appear on the Phone tile, but the icons make the difference clear.
