How do I set or view reminders on the CareHub?
Last updated 28 July 2026
Reminders are one of the most useful features of Lumin for both the person on the CareHub and their family. They appear gently on the CareHub at the right moment — medication times, appointments, birthdays, family visits. Most reminders are set up by Supporters through the Lumin Supporters App. The person on the CareHub can also create their own reminders directly on the device if they'd like.
Setting a reminder as a Supporter
- Open the Lumin Supporters App.
- Tap Calendar.
- Tap the orange + button at the bottom right.
- Choose the type of reminder:
- Medication Reminder — for pills, drops, or anything dose-based
- General Reminder — for appointments, birthdays, regular events
- Enter the details (see below).
- Tap Save. The reminder is added to the calendar and will appear on the CareHub at the right time.
Medication reminders
Medication reminders have a specific shape because the consequences of a missed dose matter:
- Name of medication (so the person sees clearly what to take)
- Dose (how much, and any specifics like "with food")
- Time the dose is due
- Days of the week (daily, weekdays, specific days)
- Missed-dose window (how long the CareHub keeps prompting before it notifies you the dose hasn't been confirmed) When a medication reminder appears on the CareHub, the person can tap Taken to confirm. If they don't tap Taken within the missed-dose window, you'll receive an alert in the Supporters App so you can check in.
General reminders
General reminders are simpler:
- Title (what the reminder is for)
- Date and time
- Notes (optional — location, what to bring, who to expect)
- Repeat (one-off, weekly, monthly, yearly) These don't have the "Taken" confirmation flow that medication reminders do — they're a gentle nudge.
Viewing reminders on the CareHub
Reminders appear two ways on the CareHub:
- In the Calendar — as scheduled events on the relevant day.
- As pop-ups — at the scheduled time, a gentle reminder appears on the screen. The person on the CareHub doesn't need to remember to check the calendar. The pop-ups do the work.
Editing or removing a reminder
In the Supporters App:
- Tap Calendar.
- Find the reminder you'd like to change.
- Tap the reminder, then tap Edit or Delete. Changes apply immediately — the CareHub updates in the background.
Setting a reminder directly on the CareHub
The person on the CareHub can also create their own reminders:
- On the home screen, tap the Calendar tile.
- Tap New Event (or the + button, depending on your version).
- Enter the event title, date, and time.
- Enable Alarm at the preferred time — this turns the calendar event into a reminder that pops up at the right moment.
- Save. Reminders set this way show up on the CareHub the same way as Supporter-set reminders — in the Calendar, and as a pop-up at the scheduled time.
Dismissing a reminder when it pops up
When a reminder pops up on the CareHub screen, the person can dismiss it with a single tap. There's no way to postpone it to a later time — a medication reminder is either confirmed with Taken or dismissed.
