How do I play cognitive games on the CareHub?
Last updated 28 July 2026
The CareHub includes a small library of cognitive games — simple, gentle activities designed for older adults. They're a nice way to keep mentally active without the frustration of a fiddly app on a phone.
Finding the games
- On the CareHub home screen, tap the Games tile (or Cognitive Games, depending on your version).
- The available games appear as large tiles.
- Tap any game to start.
What's included
The library is a fixed, curated selection of cognitive games designed for older adults. The set is the same on every CareHub. The games are designed for ease, not difficulty. There's no scoring against other people, no time pressure, no level progression you have to keep up with. You can play for two minutes or thirty minutes, and stop whenever you'd like.
Why the games library is fixed
Unlike the Entertainment library (which can be personalised with new radio stations or podcasts), the games library is the same for everyone. The reason is partly design — picking and configuring games adds complexity that doesn't serve the experience — and partly that this curated set has been chosen to suit the CareHub's audience well. If you have suggestions for games you'd like to see, you're welcome to share them with Lumin Support. Suggestions inform what gets added to the library in future updates, which arrive over the air without you needing to do anything.
Other things on the CareHub for staying engaged
If games aren't quite your thing, the CareHub also offers:
- Radio, podcasts, and Lumin TV — see the Entertainment article
- Photos — the slideshow of family photos, which many people find genuinely engaging
- Community events (if you're in a village) — quizzes, social activities, group video calls
