How do I read the Residents Handbook on the CareHub?

If you live in a retirement village or community using Lumin, your CareHub includes a Residents Handbook — a digital version of the village's handbook, with all the practical information you might need.

Finding the handbook

On the CareHub home screen, tap the Community tile (or Resident Handbook, depending on the village's setup).
Browse the sections — usually arranged by topic (welcome, facilities, services, contacts, policies, and so on).
Tap a section to read. The handbook is presented in large, clear text designed for easy reading. You can scroll through, jump between sections, and come back later — there's no need to remember a page number.

What's in your handbook

Each village's handbook is different, but most include:

Welcome and introduction
Village contacts and key staff
Facilities and amenities (lounge, gardens, gym, etc.)
Activities and events overview
Maintenance request information
Pet policies (where applicable)
Visitor and family policies
Committee information
Emergency procedures
House rules and community guidelines The exact contents are decided by your village.

Keeping it up to date

The Residents Handbook is built and maintained by Lumin in collaboration with the village. When a village wants to update the handbook — new committee details, changed hours, a new policy — they request the change through Lumin, and we update it. For residents, this means the handbook on your CareHub is always the current version. You don't need to check a paper handbook against the one on screen. The CareHub is the up-to-date copy. If you spot something that looks wrong or out of date in your handbook, mention it to your village staff. They can have it corrected.

Why a digital handbook on the CareHub

A paper handbook gets out of date, gets misplaced, and isn't easy to read for people with low vision. The CareHub version is always current, doesn't get lost, has large text, and (when voice activation arrives) will be readable aloud.
