How do I book a facility or appointment from the CareHub?

If you're in a retirement village or community using Lumin, you can book facilities, events, and appointments directly from the CareHub — without needing to call the office or fill in a paper form.
What you can book
The exact list depends on what your village has set up, but typically:
- Shared facilities — gym, pool, lounge, hairdressing room, guest suite
- Events — outings, social events, exercise classes, group activities
- Services — meal bookings (where the village offers shared dining), wellness or health visits
- Appointments — physiotherapy, podiatry, or other on-site services
How to make a booking
- On the CareHub home screen, tap the Community tile.
- Tap Events & Bookings (or Recreation, Facilities, depending on your village's setup).
- Browse what's available — events appear with a date, time, and any description.
- Tap the event or facility you'd like to book.
- If a time slot needs choosing (for a facility), pick the slot you'd like.
- Tap Book (or Reserve).
- Confirm. The booking is confirmed straight away. The event also appears in your personal calendar.
Checking or cancelling a booking
To see your current bookings:
- Tap the Calendar tile and check your personal calendar — bookings appear there.
- Or tap Community → My Bookings (where the village has this option). To cancel:
- Find the booking in the calendar or My Bookings.
- Tap it, then tap Cancel.
- Confirm. Some villages may have rules about how far in advance a booking can be cancelled — your village staff can tell you.
Different village setups
Like maintenance requests, bookings work differently depending on what your village uses:
- Native Lumin bookings. The full flow happens inside Lumin, and your booking is confirmed straight away.
- Integration with the village's existing booking system. Through Lumin Connect, the booking is passed to the village's own software. The flow may look slightly different. Your village staff can tell you which model applies.
What this isn't for
Lumin's bookings module is for village facilities and events. It isn't for:
- External appointments — booking a GP, a hairdresser outside the village, restaurant reservations. Those happen outside Lumin.
- Booking Lumin services themselves — for a refresher visit or technical support, contact Lumin Support.
